Surrounding the White House and Swimming Pool are 12 acres of ground on which are situated a playground with swings, slide and gym set; Tennis & Basketball Courts; Baseball Diamond; Volleyball Court; and plenty of grassy area with big evergreen trees for walking, picnicking and relaxing. Bordering this area on the north is Janie Lake. It was named for Janie Schweiger, who was one of the original residents of Dutchland Woods. The pond is home to several flocks of ducks who occasionally visit the homes of people in the neighborhood. In some years the pond is stocked with fish and is open to all who can bait a hook for fishing from its banks.
The park closes to events at dusk.
